In the court of public opinion this is going to be far worse for the NBA as well.

Just think about the steroids bullshit and how every time anybody explodes for over 30 bombs for the first time in their career everyone starts thinking about balco. This is like you said, a whole different league. EVERY bad call will be examined, every bad non call will be examined, every night there are going to be at least 5-6 bad calls in each NBA game. Fans are gonna have something to actually be pissed off about when their team gets screwed, and the sports credibility is going to take about as big of a hit as we'll ever see in our lifetime.

Sad times indeed, but on the bright side, once the NBA is a pathetic mess no one's gonna care that the Celtics still suck, right?

Man.... I hardly watch the NBA anymore but you don't even have to watch it that much to see how many BS calls there are. I'm glad somebody has finally exposed the BS for what it is. As for Vick... what a dummy. His latest actions are about on par with his stupidity in hiding weed in a water bottle and trying to get on a plane. Didn't anyone ever tell him they don't allow liquids on planes anymore? And Barry Bonds* is a disgrace to the game.

good take on the scandal. im liking the links to youtube and the like. as for level of scandal, it's bad to be sure. but let's not forget the italian soccer league scandal from last summer where one of the biggest names in club soccer (juventus) was relegated to the second division for their involvement in match fixing and referee bribing. although this happened it italy, the mecca of duplicity and shady scheming, it's still relatively unprecedented.
